There are several GTO's left out in the world today, but less than 2,000 1965 GTO's were produced in the rare code P, Iris Mist. Less than that by a large number are left today. This GTO was sold originally at Bill Lang Pontiac in Vallejo California and spent its entire life in the neighboring town of Napa and serviced by Big Chief Pontiac in Napa. My grandfather was a GM technician in the mid 60's and worked at Big Chief and I have no doubt that he worked on this car when it was new. The car was built in the Fremont plant not far from Napa and Vallejo and came with some great factory options. Tri power, 3:55 posi rear axle
The GTO came from the factory with some nice options such as tinted glass, push button radio with a power antenna, center console, super lift shocks and retractable seat belts.
Paint and drive train options were also very nicely equipped. Original configuration was the YR code 360hp tri power 389 with a two speed automatic transmission. The rear axle featured the Safe-T-Track posi traction with 3:55 gears.
Original paint code P Iris Mist and 213 black bucket seat interior.
